Finding Entrepreneurs Who Are Behind Trends

There’s always a trend in this world. Starting from the gold rush to the .com boom and now the AI race, people have been fixated about trends and want to be the ones involved in these. However, just like the gold rush, most people actively participating in these don’t become the richests. It’s the ones who provide them the materials to compete end up becoming the wealthiest. Levi Strauss provided blue jeans to miners (now Levi’s). Microsoft provided the windows operating system and office suite to people making their websites. NVIDIA provides AI companies GPUs to support their compute powers. There are always companies who are supporting these trends and end up becoming some of the greatest companies in the world. My goal is to find them.
I follow the latest news in the world, especially the ones that are in the forefront of technology. I also look at where the world is going in the future, and what could become popular 2-3 years down the road. This is a hard job because the world changes so fast. You can’t guarantee that the same things happening today will still be there years later. There’s so many unknowns and trends that never grew to the ideal scale of adoption such as AR/VR (which could change with Meta’s AR glasses), but I find it interesting to find the ones who are behind and fueling the hottest trends.
I’m actively talking to people who are at the forefront of these trends from Gen AI in 2024 to AI Agents in 2025. I observe patterns by learning how they run, who they rely on, and what’s makes them successful. Then, I look for the ones who are actually behind the scene and running the entire show…
